Cancun, Quintana Roo, May 15th, 2022 – Facing the upcoming summer season, the Quintana Roo Tourism Board (CPTQ) carried out a promotional caravan jointly with the Riviera Maya Hotel Association and tourism service providers in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and Dallas, the main US cities of outbound visitors to Quintana Roo.
The “Mexican Caribbean Roadshow”, which took place from May 9-13, comprised a series of activities aimed at travel agents, including presentations of Quintana Roo’s tourist destinations, business meetings with tour operators, meetings with United Airlines and American Airlines representatives, as well as networking strategies and interviews with the media.
In this regard, the chairman of the CPTQ, Dario Flota Ocampo, said: “We strengthened the promotion of our destinations in the Mexican Caribbean main foreign market, that is, the United States. We have submitted the novelties in hotels and attractions of our destinations to more than 300 travel agents, in addition to highlighting the main activities in each one of them, expecting thus a successful summer season.”
This roadshow helped strengthen the brand positioning and latest news from hotels and service providers taking part in the caravan, such as Sensira Resorts & Spa, Playa Resorts, Grupo Xcaret, Thompson Playa del Carmen, Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, Barceló, Sirenis Hotels, Aloft Cancun, Tukan Hotels & Resorts, Hilton, The Westin Cozumel, Fairfield Inn & Suites Cancun Airport / Courtyard Cancun Aeropuerto, Cancun Bay Resort, Iberostar, Palladium Hotel Group were made known.
It is worth mentioning that this caravan represented the approach and presence before a potential market with over 2 million tourists per year; 1 million 100 of which are from Texas, close to 560 thousand from New York, almost 400 thousand from Illinois and over 170 thousand from Pennsylvania.
On the other hand, the Mexican Caribbean air connectivity represents about 28 weekly flights from Philadelphia to Cancun and over 40 flights from New York. Chicago operates about 68 flights and Dallas 80 weekly flights to Cancun and Cozumel.
