Message from Gov. Carlos Joaquín with an update on the epidemiological traffic light strategy in Plan “Reactivemos Quintana Roo”

I want to reiterate the importance of following our economic recovery plan in a gradual, orderly and responsible manner.
Each household must be absolutely responsible for taking care of their loved ones to ensure we contain and prevent the spread of Covid-19.
We must be focused in our commitment to our economic recovery plan, and everyone must do their part to ensure we do this successfully.
How will we start to go out and leave our homes in a safe manner? We will do this gradually, little by little, to ensure that our re-opening occurs in phases. As we allow more groups to leave their homes, it is critical that those who do not have to leave their home remain inside. It is also very important that we all continue to take care of ourselves and those around us. We must also follow all the safety protocols established for our workplace to avoid getting sick and spreading the virus.
This will allow us to recover our economy, and will give confidence to the tourists who visit us. By following these rules, we will be able to open up other types of businesses, like shops, so that we can move to the next stage in our traffic light strategy.
But for this to happen, I need to ask that you, your family, your neighborhood, your region, your town continue to treat to this epidemic in the most responsible way possible.
That is my request, it is what Quintana Roo needs and requires today so that we take care of our health and at the same time recover the economy.
This is the first pillar of our reopening, take care of our state’s health and then embark on economic recovery.
Today, in both regions of the state, we are in the orange color stage of our traffic light strategy. This means that some businesses can operate at 30% capacity including, hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls.
This will allow us to reignite job creation and begin to spur economic development. But again, for this to happen we have to take care of our health.
This is the only way and Together We Will Succeed!
