Friends of Quintana Roo:
We are very close to the beginning of our economic recovery phase. We are still at a crucial moment of the epidemic, and we are not out of the woods yet. We have to increase our security measures, stay at home and ease into the next phase of life in which we coexist with the coronavirus.
These steps must be taken gradually and with maturity as we are trying to stop the potential for the virus to spike and bring with it many preventable deaths.
In order to begin our reopening plan, we have to follow our stop light system to gauge which factors allow for gradual, continual reopening of business. In accordance with this system, we will be able to determine which business can open, how many guests or clients they can welcome, and what other factors must be in place in order to protect the health and well-being of all.
Our priority must continue to be everyone’s protection, even as we implement the “Reactivating Quintana Roo” program.
We will provide continuous updates on color coding for different regions of the state, describing the percentage of employees and clients that can be mobilized in each one of these regions, which will then allow a gradual return to productive activities.
I want to ask everyone, first, to continue with this solidarity that has been shown by the people of Quintana Roo, and decrease mobility.
We were the first state in the country to reduce its mobility by 85% and that is to be appreciated and today more than ever we can also send a message to our country and the world that with this commitment and solidarity we can return, without there being a re-emergence of the disease.
Everybody please be vigilant, keep your distance, follow every prevention and hygiene measure that we have talked about. Do not touch your face, please wash your hands, do not say hello with a kiss or hug, do not be less than a meter and a half from other people, please keep your distance on public transportation. It is very important that we adhere to these recommendations from the moment we leave our home, while we are at work and on the way back home, for the health and wellbeing of our family, our society, our state.
I am sure that with all these measures, and with the maturity of the people of Quintana Roo….
Together We Will Succeed!
