Cancun – The hotel associations of Quintana Roo’s tourist destinations have joined the “Be part of the solution” awareness campaign.
The hotel associations of Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Isla Mujeres, Riviera Maya, Tulum and Cozumel, advise national and foreign visitors, through an informational letter, on the legal consequences of using or selling drugs in the state.
Upon receiving this letter, visitors and tourists are informed that drug or illegal substance use or dealing during their stay in Quintana Roo is considered a crime.
The General Communication Coordination of Quintana Roo’s government recently launched the “Be part of the solution” campaign with visibility in the Cancun and Chetumal international airports, maritime terminals, hotels, bus stations and several tourists spots.
This campaign was previously agreed upon with the State consular corps, the Business Coordination Council (CCE), the Cancun and Isla Mujeres Security and Justice Board where the three government levels participate, among others.
The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness among visitors and tourists of the state’s legal context of which they are subject during their stay in Quintana Roo, as well as a reminder that using or selling drugs in the state is a crime.
